Otto
(Kennel name Crawford Brave Bachelor) knows more than 300 words
and we do obedience training and agility. For fun I've also taught
him "circus" tricks: he can roll around, "die,"
bark when asked, he knows all my fingers by name and points them out
with his nose. In the picture he is doing a trick called "Lick
your nose." When I ask "What does a circus dog do?" he
jumps to stand on my back while I'm on my knees. He can also nod when
I ask if he wants to have a tidbit.
Otto is not supersmart; I've just put a lot of time in training him
and I think any dog can learn these tricks if taught properly. Otto's
favorite stuff includes swimming, barking at strange objects and
carrying huge sticks around and making people laugh when he does it.
He also likes to carry his sausages home from the store.
