About Us
Chuckle Berry Chow, the Dog of the Day
Name: Chuckle Berry Chow
Age: Two and a half years old
Gender: Male
Breed: Chow
Home: Virginia, USA

Chuckle Berry Chow, "Chucky" came into our lives and hearts eight months ago. Chucky, who had apparently suffered horribly as a stray, had been passed over repeatedly for adoption at the humane shelter. Our first exposure to Chucky came after a member of the Chow Rescue organization called and begged us to consider saving this poor pup. To say we were shocked is an understatement. His fur had been so tangled and matted, the shelter had shaved him completely from the ears back. He was little more than skin and bones and was extremely ill mannered and unruly. To top it off, he had a lamp shade (Elizabethan collar) on his neck because of allergies. (Turned out it was the mange.)

I said, "This is a dog only his mother could love." My wife said, "This pup is a diamond-in-the-rough." As you can see, my wife was right. Chucky is a beautiful dog with a very playful, pleasant demeanor. He is a wonderful member of our family and will never suffer from cold or hunger again. Chucky is Dog of the Day every day in our house.
