About Us
Quincy, the Dog of the Day
Name: Quincy
Age: Seven and a half months old
Gender: Male Breed: Miniature Dachshund
Home: Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Quincy is a typical dachshund - he has an extraordinary personality and is very protective of his mom. (I have to keep reminding him that he is not a Rottweiler!) He is quite the hunter and is very proficient at stalking crickets. He loves to fetch, get tummy rubs and is very mischievous. He is also very intelligent and (much to mom's dismay) has figured out how to get out of his crate at times. So he will prance around my bedroom at 4:30 in the morning sometimes. He is still a playful pup at seven and a half months and is very curious. He's a great dog.

Says Quincy: I am a true dachshund at heart! I am the master hunter, although my mom doesn't have any badgers for me to dig up, so I have to settle for crickets, lizards and other bugs that wander into my domain! I am very protective of my mom and aunt because I love them very much! And my bark makes people think I am a very big dog! Heck, I think I'm a very big dog! I love to get tummy rubs and play with my squeaker toys and go to PETsMART. I also like to be a big prankster - I'll sometimes try to take something of my mom's and hope she doesn't notice when I'm dragging it away! I am always very curious as to what's going on around me and I always have to check out all the new people that come over my house, but they all seem to be really nice and they give me treats, which I like. This picture was taken at PETsMART - I sat real still for mom and looked at the squeaker toy!
