This
is our one-year-old Catahoula named Gabby. We adopted him from the
Humane Society here in Palm Coast, Florida when he was just eight weeks
old. We went to the Humane Society to give our Christmas donation of
dog and cat food and we saw a litter of Catahoula puppies. It was Love
at First Sight. It was the week before Christmas and he was too young to
bring home at that time. We visited him each and every day until the
27th when we could bring him home. This was his first real Christmas
with us and he loved every minute of it... especially all the toys and
goodies he got. We have had many dogs but, we must say, training him
was unnecessary. He responds to each and every command and not once has
he had an accident in the house. It is as though he was one of our dogs
in a past life and knew just what to do and not to do. He is an extreme
pleasure to be with and have around. We have another dog by the name of
Spirit that we found in the woods five years ago. They get along great
and play together on what seems like a continuous basis. We hope that
all dog adoptees have the success that we have experienced with this one
of a kind, Catahoula named Gabby.
We bought him his own wading pool and he just loves it. He is a real
water dog and loves to play in the pool and the sprinklers. When we walk
him past neighbors homes with the sprinklers on, he wants to run and
play in their water also. He loves to play Frisbee and catch with the
ball in our yard. When he gets hot, he just jumps in his pool. He looks
like he is always smiling and is a very happy puppy. He is one year old
and has grown in leaps and bounds to a weight of 72 pounds. He is a big
boy but extremely gentle with everyone. Every time we look at him, he
is experiencing a new fact of life. He loves the flowers, the grass,
butterflies, birds etc. He never barks at them, just looks and observes
all the beauty of nature around him.
