My
dog Jade is so special to us because she is so gentle, the original
gentle giant and she has an amazing knack of knowing when something is
wrong with any of our children. We have three kids, one of whom has a
terminal heart condition. When he was born three years ago, and before
being diagnosed with his condition, Jade spent weeks not leaving his
side, until he was rushed into Great Ormound Street and we were told
of his condition. Then she seemed to know that we knew and relented
from guarding him constantly.
Our oldest child Synayde went through a stage of night terrors (bad
nightmares) but just before she would get hysterical, Jade would wake
her and sit with her until she was calm again. I believe she is very
much in tune with the family and I know as long as we have her with us
we will all be safe, she is truly a remarkable dog.
