My
dog's full name is Melampo Amigo, she is very lovable and friendly.
She loves to swim in the small creek by our farm in Delisle,
Saskatchewan. Amigo loves all people. When we have company she will
not let them get away without petting her. When she wishes to be
petted she will lean against you. She weighs 140 pounds, so you are
well aware that she wishes to be petted. She can shake a paw, shake
her other paw, Sit, Roll over, and lie down. If we give her a very
special treat (eg. homemade Liver treats), she will do all her tricks
at once in order to obtain the treat. The Newfoundland Dog is
sometimes referred to as the gentle giant. They do earn the title.
They are also rescue dogs. When the children were small, we took them
swimming in river. Amigo would always try to pull them out. She has a
very gentle mouth and can pull you without hurting your arm.
