Floyd
thinks he's a show jumper, on the estate where I live there are
short metal railings around the grass areas, and Floyd has his course
mapped out. He'll run up the bank by the canal, downhill to the first
hurdle, across the estate road to the second, 15 feet of grass then the
third & fourth in quick succession (pathway) then right at the gate for
another lap. He has to keep his paws up, as his hurdles are very
unforgiving, and a bad clip can leave him limping and whining, but it
doesn't stop the crazy beast.
Floyd is very affectionate with me, lying on his back with his legs in
the air when he wants his belly rubbed. He barks a lot at other people
on the estate, but he's just being protective. (good dog)
As we live in a rough part of East London his primary job is to keep
burglars out of my flat when I'm at work, which he does well. (working
dog)
On command he can sit, give paw, other paw and lye down. His party
trick is getting drunk, although I do not encourage this, he loves booze
and will finish any discarded drink at a party. Last Christmas he drank
neat Brandy from a crystal glass on the coffee table, breaking the glass
in the process. (naughty dog)
Over our "bonfire night" period, (mid October to mid November, with 5th
November the main night) large numbers of fireworks are set off in
London, and all over the U.K., sending many pets running for cover.
Floyd, on the other hand, was right out there on my balcony barking at
them all. On the 5th I sent up a load myself, Floyd loved it, I had to
hold him back so he didn't get too close. (fearless dog)
