Echo
is special because he is so unusual looking, plus he is a great
companion and protector, he is also a champion in frisbee fetching.
Oh, gosh, there are so many things about him! I guess the most special
thing is when he was two I was working at my father-in-law's garage
where some of the local police officers would come by and visit, and
of course I would take Echo to work with me. One of the captains of
Narcotics came in and I was showing him how Echo knew the difference
in certain items like ball, frisbee and grease rags. I would tell Echo
which item I wanted to play with and he would find it for me. The
officer said "D**n that dog knows English!" I told him
"No wonder, he has to listen to me 24 seven." Well, to say
the least, he gets on the phone and tells them to make him out a check
for $5,000 - he found another drug dog. I told him he was crazy be
like selling one of my children. I accused him of wanting him for
himself! lol
My husband and I also have a towing business. We tow for the City and
all the officers know his name but has no idea what our name is of
course. He is named after their district. When we leave a scene it's
"Bye, Echo!" - they never acknowledge us. Echo is also the
best companion I have ever had. too bad he can't run for some kind of
office if that tells you what kind of personality he has. I am sure he
could get elected : ) I mean just look at that face!
