This
is Rooster. He is a rescued Greyhound from our local track. He is
two and a half years old. This past April, I had to let go of my
companion of fifteen years, Muffy. I was going crazy and knew I had to get
another dog, and boy did I! My husband and I decided on the greyhound
almost immediately. They are such perfect dogs. We had our mind made
up to get a girl, but when we got there, he totally stole our
hearts... He looks a bit rough in this picture, but he hasn't fully
grown his coat back, and gotten over the effects of being locked up
for two years in the runs and crates. He resides in Alabama with many
brothers and sisters, including way smaller dogs, seven cats, and five
parrots. He has brought much joy out of the sadness of losing my
Muffy. And how ironic, Rooster himself plays with real roosters in our
yard! (Although he is a bit intimidated by them.) This is what he is
usually doing, laying around. Most times with all fours in the air! He
is wonderful. Anyone considering adoptions should check out any
greyhound adoption organizations. You'll be glad you did.
