My
dog's name is Aspen Winter Winner. He is four human years old. He
is a very special pup. He weighs in at 110 pounds. He absolutely loves
all animals and people. I am a vet tech and at times raise
orphan kittens or puppies. All I have to do is lay Aspen down and put
the babies between his hind legs. He will snuggle them and keep them
warm. He is also my very best friend. He will go fetch a dog for me if
it's running off. He and I are inseparable. I take him to the river at
least once a week.
This summer ago we were fishing there and a little girl was out in the
water swimming; she started to scream, all I could see was a white
flash running down the beach, he dove in and swam to the little girl
and took her arm in his mouth. When she continued to scream he
released her but continued to swim around her until her mother and I
got to them. The little girl was only screaming because she got out
too far and was scared. He is an exceptional pet.
Aspen was stolen from me in 1999. I didn't get him back for nine months.
He is microchipped. May I suggest to all pet owners that they
microchip their loved ones? I think Aspen should be honored just for
having a loving heart. He will always be my Pet of the Day.
