Dudley, the Dog of the Day
Name: Dudley
Age: Six years old
Gender: Male Breed: Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Home: Ocala, Florida, USA

Dudley is very special. He is extremely smart and is a hero as well. He deserves a purple heart, because his actions saved my mother's life. My mother was home watching TV, when she slumped to the floor having a stroke. My father was in the bathroom shaving on the other end of the house so he had no idea what was going on. If it hadn't been for Dudley coming to the rescue, by knowing instinctively that something major was wrong, my mother would not be alive today! Dudley repeatedly ran back and forth from the living room to the bathroom barking and crying, while trying to "herd" (a corgi's instinctive gesture) my father to my mother's side to help her. This uncanny action had my father confused, and alerted him that something must be wrong. He followed Dudley out to the living room and found my mother on the floor not able to speak or move! That dog is incredible to this day, but I wanted to share this story. I also want to say that the Corgi dogs are the best! They are not only smart, but a lot of fun, good natured, and sweet, not to mention good guard dogs! In this photo attached you will see Dudley in the back yard smelling a sunflower that the squirrels "planted"! I love this picture so much and have it enlarged and framed on my wall.
