At
the age of nine, Rosie is slowing down a little, thank goodness. She is a
dog that is too smart for her own good. She had learned to open the
sliding patio door with her nose and then found if it was locked she could
unlock the kitchen window and slide that open!
Since we have no sheep for Rosie to herd we try to keep busy other ways.
We tried fly ball, but her now deceased old sister Spud taught her not to
play with her toys, so every time Rosie grabbed the ball she would drop it
and look for Spud. She now goes running in the morning with her mom, they
both love it. When Spud passed away we thought about getting Rosie a
brother or sister but she does not get along with most other dogs, so her
brothers, Spirit and Chet, are both cats. Rosie is also a great watch dog,
she loves the people she knows, but strangers are not welcome, which is
sometimes a problem but we love her just the same.
