About Us
Hunter, the Dog of the Day
Name: Hunter
Age: Four years old
Gender: Female Breed: Pointer mix
Home: Orange, California, USA

Hunter was adopted from the county animal shelter at four months of age. She was labeled as a "pointer mix" but we like to jokingly call her "half pointer and half questionable heritage." While the other dogs were at the front of their kennels, showing their stuff and trying their best to escape death row, Hunter was in the very back of her cage, as if to say "I'm cute, someone will snatch me up!" My husband Jon spotted her, and we adopted her after nobody claimed her. I can't count the number of times Hunter just makes me laugh for no reason. Whether it's her funny antics or ability to understand English, we have a special bond. Whenever she's lying down or sleeping she has to be cuddled with one of us. She loves giving kisses and is just a sweetheart. Her other love is hunting "critters," and she has a strange obsession with lizards. When it's warm and sunny out she sticks her head in every bush looking for them and remembers every bush where she found a lizard.
