DingDing
is a very sweet dog. My daddy bought him as a puppy in YuNan
province, which is 2000 miles away from Shanghai. Airlines didn't
accept pets in 1995, so my daddy a took three-day train journey to bring him
back. He is very special.
DingDing is picky about food and drink. He doesn't like tap water
because of the chlorine smell. He likes juicy fruits, noodles, fish and
microwaved sweet potatoes, which are not dog food at all! DingDing is a
good guard dog. Whenever strangers come close to our door, he will bark
and try to scare them away. One time, about two years ago, we were not
at home. Our neighbors heard DingDing barking and went out to find a
burglar was trying to pry the door open. They were able to scare the
burglar away, thanks to his warning. We rewarded DingDing a big sweet potato.
