I
got Roxie when she was six months old. She can be stubborn at times, but
she's very smart. She "talks" when she has something to say, but can
remain quiet for hours. She enjoys watching the world go by either in
the car or in a window. She loves to play constantly, and can catch a
frisbee about 80% of the time... depends on if she's motivated that
day. Roxie would rather run after a slobbery tennis ball. She loves
playing hide and seek. Instead of playing dead when I "shoot" her,
she'll roll over, spring back up and expect a treat.
Roxie is a bit small for a Dalmatian, weighing in at a healthy 40
pounds, but she's very quick and agile. She is very bossy. A friend of
mine was kinder. He says, "Spunky." She is very curious and will
investigate any noise or smell. She is very aloof when meeting new
people and it usually takes a day or two before she decides she likes
you. Once she decides to like you, though, she is very affectionate.
She doesn't tolerate noisy or rough children, and has been known to
headbutt persistent kids who insist on hugging her!
