I
wanted a dog ever since I was little but my dad wouldn't let me. It
took me 17 years of persuasion to get one and it is definitely worth it!
When I got Bonbon the puppy he was quite skinny, he weighed less than 1
kg.
Bonbon loves to take a walk, when I asked him "want to take a walk?" he
would get sooo excited and do the jiggly wiggly dance. But even though
he loves walking, he hates to get dirty. If some part of the street were
wet he would stop dead in his tracks and stare at me with the look that
can only mean "Carry me across the dirty wet part, Oh my humble subject."
And of course, as a humble subject, I obeyed. And when he gets home from
walks he washes his hands meticulously for about half an hour till
the fur in his front paws gets sleek and shiny. Very prissy huh? But you
should see if he hears or sees a cat passing through, he will bark in a
very manly bark looking oh, so macho, trying to defend his territory from
unwanted intruders. And Bonbon is very popular, everybody in the
neighborhood knows his name (I doubt that they know mine). Every time we
go for walks people would start calling him, he's definitely a
celebrity!
Bonbon is also a very picky eater. He hates dog food but loves almost
everything else. He especially loves ice cream. If I eat some, he will
sit right in front of me and stare with the pleasepleaseplease eyes and
sometimes drool, which makes refusal impossible.
Bonbon sleeps in my room, but he won't enter the room at night if the
air conditioner hasn't been turned on. He waits outside till the room
is cool enough for him to sleep in. Then he will enter and find the
coolest spot in the room (right in front of the AC), and snore away till
morning. Most dogs wake up their owner in the morning, but I have to do
the opposite, wake him up every morning to take him for a walk before I
go to work. And it's very difficult! He usually just rolls over and goes
back to sleep. I really hate going to work because I can't take him with
me; I miss him so much I can't wait to go home. It's really great going
home seeing him wagging his tail to welcome you. And then he will roll
on his back to get his dose of belly rub. If I am not paying him enough
attention, he lets me know by nudging my hands till I scratch him. If
my mom and I hug each other, he will scratch at one of us until we pull
apart. I don't know what he means to accomplish by doing that. Maybe he
wants to join the hug, but it's also possible he is trying to "help"
because he thinks one of us will get squashed.
The main thing is, Bonbon is sooooo special I can barely put it into
words, we love him more than anything! He is the love of my life!
