Amika, the Dog of the Day
Name: Amika
Age: Four months old
Gender: Female Breed: Dog
Home: Olean, New York, USA

Meet Amika Kazuko Miette. Her name's meanings are Amika - Japanese (loving friend), Kazuko - Japanese (child of peace), Miette - French (small sweet thing). Amika came into our lives on February 22, 2003. She was about fifteen weeks old. I think she stole our hearts the moment we saw her. Before I met my husband I had a Yorkshire Terrier and actually, was looking for another Yorkie when we found Amika. My Yorkie passed away just before Christmas. I tried not to look for another pet, because my hubby said he did not want another dog, but I just missed my Sasha so much. Sasha was seventeen years old when I lost her. She was three years old when I got her from the SPCA so I had her along time. But, along came Amika and daddy is in love with her as much as mommy is. She is a joy to have around and has livened up this household. She keeps us very busy and entertained. The grandkids love her and she loves them, sometimes I think more than she loves mom & dad, but that's OK. Miki loves to ride in the car and we have been taking her everywhere we can to get her use to longer trips. My daughter lives five hours away...but I think Miki will do just fine. Amika has a mind of her own, so she fits right in with the rest of this family. She is learning so much. She is pretty laid back and takes things as they come. I thought this breed of dog was suppose to be leery of strangers, but she loves everyone. If we go to strange place, it does take her about two minutes to warm up and then she is part of the household.

Amika has been a GODsend. Amika and her mommy wish you a wonderful day and a peaceful tomorrow.
