This
is Rufus. Since we had him as a puppy (when he was about 18cm), he
has brought a lot of joy and love into our lives. Rufus is now a fully
grown dog and is sooo gorgeous!
He was originally bought for our other dog, Jasper who is also a
Miniature Long Haired Dachshund but is just tan. The two dogs are related
as Jasper is Rufus' uncle, Jasper's sister is Rufus' mother. Jasper was
all alone and very depressed since we had to put our previous dachshund
(Henry) to sleep as he slipped a disk in his spine. Since we got Rufus,
Jasper has become a lot happier and yet is still a mummy's boy.
Rufus is a very loud dog and has a piercing bark, but we love him all
the same. As you can see in the picture Rufus has a talent of standing
on his hind legs, he does it to demand attention, which is always given.
Rufus loves his food and treats, when we give him a treat he sits
patiently wagging his tail on the floor waiting for us to give it to
him.
Rufus loves to be stroked and will paw at you if you stop. He also
loves to sleep in my bed, when he does he takes up most of the bed even
though he's small. He sleeps like a human, head on the pillow and body
under the duvet. He keeps me warm! Jasper on the other hand sleeps
curled up by my feet, so cute!
Rufus loves to be chased, to play with his toys and especially tug of
war with my cousin! He isn't afraid of anyone, he gives a few barks to
any new stranger, but after a few minutes he's fine! Pawing at them for
attention.
Rufus is a strange but funny dog, and we love him loads!!! We wouldn't
change him for the world.
