What
makes Baxter so special is his ability to sniff out people. He
isn't a show dog or anything, but he has an incredible ability of
brightening up peoples' days. His personality is so big and full of
life. He protects our horses from mountain lions and coyotes, and he
also protects us from intruders. If there is someone he doesn't know, he
takes caution and lets them know where he stands on protecting his
family. Oh, and he loves to dance with me on his hind legs! We
rescued him from the Humane Society here in the Black Hills. Somebody
just dropped him off in the parking lot one night! Imagine that! Maybe
he isn't a hero to most people, but he is my hero just for being the
great dog and friend that he is.
