His
name is Charlie Brown, because when we adopted him (at 8 weeks old)
he was charcoal and brown)... now he's gray! Charlie Brown lives
with Mommy and Daddy in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He also has a
brother - a betta fish named Ruby.
We call Charlie Brown "The Boy" or "The Pants (short for Smartie
Pants)." Sometimes Mommy calls him, "The Baby," just because. He must
keep tabs on Mommy and Daddy at all times. He must be in the same room
as Mommy or Daddy and preferably both. He sleeps between us at night
(under the covers). He loves people and we love him. We both find
ourselves narrating for him and talking to him in "baby talk." It's
really quite a spectacle.
He is very jealous of our fish, a recent addition to our family. Just
wait until we have children! He rings a bell when he has to go
outside. He loves to go on w-a-l-k-s. He hates the rain, though. We
once walked with him all the way to Pets Mart (about a mile from our
home at the time). We bought him a stuffed penguin. He carried that
penguin all the way home in his mouth. His favorite toy is his "Snackie
Ball," a toy ball that you fill with doggie treats. He rolls it around
on the floor and treats drop out sporadically. He loves squeakie toys
and tears them to shreds to get at the squeaker. He is not allowed to
eat people food, but one day he snuck some Hershey's kisses that were
not hidden well while Mommy and Daddy were out. He likes rice, too,
something we used to feed him when he had upset stomach. He still
comes running when he hears the microwave, because we used to warm his
rice up that way. He also barks like crazy at the coffee grinder,
vacuum cleaner, and motorcycles.
Speaking of motor vehicles, he loves car rides and is used to being
buckled in the back seat. When on long car rides, however, Charlie
lets out deep *sighs* every once in a while as if it to say, "Are we
there yet?" Dogs are amazing. We can't imagine life without our
doggie. Dogs are sooo good for the soul, stress relief, and provide
unconditional love.
