Hello,
My name is Tanqueray Apollo Elliot. Everyone calls me Tanq. I am
a full breed Akita. I am seven months old and weigh 90 pounds. I am
originally from Jay, Oklahoma. I love to walk with my Dad (Robert
Elliot) and chase squirrels... even though I am not fast enough to catch
one yet. My Dad is going to try and get me involved in Therapy visits to
local Senior Citizen Homes when I get older. For now I enjoy chewing on
sticks, playing with tennis balls, Frisbees, and playing with all the
kids in then neighborhood.
P.S. Mean People Make Mean Dogs!
Love, Tanq
Tanq is an extraordinary Akita. He has worked very hard on his social
skills. With his overbearing size, his demeanor is very important. As a
puppy, I would let him say hello to everyone we seen on our walks. Our
favorite place to meet people is Patriot Lake. We love going during 'no
leash hours' to play with some tennis balls and Frisbees. This allows
us to meet all kinds of friends (both human and canine). I may have done
too good of a job socializing him. Now he thinks that everyone he sees
needs to pet and love on him. We also love going to the local pet store.
While there, all the shoppers enjoy meeting Tanq (especially the kids!).
Tanq's loving ways have led me to believe he will make a great therapy
dog. He is very sensitive to my emotions. When I may be a little down,
he is always there with a big smile and a toy to play with. When I am a
little lonely, he is always there to take me on a walk and look for some
girls which, by the way, is one of his best traits. He is great at
opening a conversation with a young lady.
Tanq's best friend is a six-year-old Doberman Pinscher named Talley.
They are two trippin' peas in a far out pod! They enjoy playing and
chasing each other in the field behind the apartment. With the
stereotype that Akitas have of being aggressive, attacking animals,
Tanq is a shining example of responsible training and socialization.
