My
Border Collie's name is Shadow. Shadow loves to amaze everyone with
his jumping and catching ability! He can catch a tennis ball or stick
that is up to five feet in the air! He does spectacular twisting jumps to
achieve his catches! When he is not playing, Shadow loves to give
kisses and to snuggle with his family. We named him Shadow because the
day we got him he was our daughter Katie's constant shadow and followed
her everywhere.
Shadow is a very friendly dog. He loves not only all the people that he
comes in contact with, but loves to play with other dogs. He has a
special Dalmatian friend, Lily. They are great pals, to the extent that
if we are in the car and do take the usual route to Lily's house for
them to play, Shadow will start to bark! He is a very intelligent dog,
as you can tell from his ability to know the directions to Lily's
house! A favorite game that the two of them play, is doggie hide and
seek. One will get down low to the ground to become "invisible," while
the other "sneaks up" on them. Then they are off and running, both
holding one side of a toy or stick as they frolic through the yards!
Shadow loves to run in the woods with me. This is where we get our
"collection" of sticks. He can carry up to six nice size sticks in his
mouth at one time. He will bring them back to the house for future
games of catch.
