Ivy May, the Dog of the Day
Name: Ivy May
Age: One and a half years old
Gender: Female Breed: Dog
Home: Lake Stevens, Washington, USA

Ivy May is our mischievous little tornado! She was only ten weeks old when we took this picture, and has grown into a very fun little dog. Ivy May, (or May May to her closest friends) has personality plus, and is way too smart! She is part blue heeler for sure, but we are not positive about the rest of her DNA. We adopted her from Kristi, the guardian angel of many creatures, who had saved Ivy's pregnant mother from being put to sleep at the pound. She adopted out Ivy May, her 8 littermates and mom to homes where they were wanted and would be loved as soon as the babies were old enough.

Ivy May is such a great little dog, and my husband and I couldn't be happier with her. She has boundless energy and always has us laughing. For instance, she and our cat Ellie, love to sit and groom each other. She will even beg for Ellie to groom her. It is quite the sight!

She is the perfect example of why you should look at rescues first when you want to add a member to your family. There are so many wonderful creatures of all shapes and sizes needing homes. So, thank you to Kristi, her rescue group and all the other wonderful Guardian Angels that operate pet rescues. Please get your pets spayed and neutered, and support the organizations that help take care of and find forever homes for homeless pets.
