Koda, the Dog of the Day
Name: Koda
Age: Six years old
Gender: Female Breed: Alaskan Malamute
Home: Bath, Michigan, USA

Koda Marie truly is her Daddy's Girl! My husband and I picked her out as a four-month-old puppy from a lady in my parents neighborhood. We just fell in love with her on the spot. Little did we know how much she would become a part of our lives.

Looking back to her puppy pictures, I can't even believe that she was ever small. Now at 115 pounds, Koda pretty much does what Koda wants to do. She is incredibly stubborn, but so smart. If she doesn't want to do something, she won't do it. She has us trained! Despite her few flaws, she is really wonderful and we love her because of them. Koda is the most beautiful dog that I've ever seen, and it seems we're not the only ones who think that. She always gets an admiring glances when she's our for a walk and her "grandparents" all think she is just amazing! She is tender and gentle, but is very protective of our family and her yard. While she's inside with us for the night, she loves to cuddle and be doted on. At other times, she'll wander into her crate to sneak a few minutes of peace away from her little brother, but most times, she's sprawled out on the floor right where I'm trying to sweep! She shows her emotions verbally by howling in the mornings as if to say hello or when she wants to go outside. She is content to spend her days lying around until a squirrel or rabbit enters the yard, and then she becomes a rabid hunter! She loves her treats, rawhide bones, and going for walks in the trail next to our house. She's a tough, but sweet little cookie and could do no wrong in our eyes. Since we don't have children of our own yet, she definitely takes advantage of being our little spoiled girl. We love you Koda Bear!
