This
is Jasmine, enjoying a beautiful winter's day here in Ontario,
Canada. This picture was taken a couple of years ago, and she is now an
old girl of eleven years old. She was born here and is the last of a string
of collies we used to have. Jasmine is a sweetheart. She has had a
wonderful, healthy life. We live on 160 acres, so she has always had a
large backyard to play in.
Blueberry bushes grow all around us in the summer and it is a favorite
pastime of hers and mine to go blueberry picking ... although I have to
shoo her away many a times, because she is trying to eat the ones I'm
picking. She loves blueberries! She eventually gets the idea and finds a
nice shady spot and is content to watch me from a distance while
munching on her own patch. She still enjoys playing with our Golden
Retriever, who helps to keep her young, and enjoys walks down our
country road. Our two puppies are a bit much for her, so she is happier
having a quiet spot away from the antics of the young whippersnappers.
Jasmine is one of my son's dog and they have grown up together. He is
now 21, and there is a definite attachment between the two.
