Cowboy
is six years old, I am 48. He has been with me all his life. I
tell everyone he is "The Perfect Pup". As a puppy he was potty trained
in 1/2 a day, he learned sit, shake and speak in 1/2 hour. He loves to
hunt for lizards or anything else that moves real fast. He is my best
friend and he understands everything I say. When we go for walks he
wants to meet everyone on the street. I have had many dogs, but he is
far the most intelligent and he is beautiful. He is also a "Blues
Buddy" and his picture and Bio is being distributed in Blue Buffalo Dog
Food. He loves to chase the beam of a light from a laser pointer, I make
sure it doesn't get in his eyes. If anyone says the word light he is up
and staring at their pockets. He looks for the reflection off a watch,
in the sunlight. He is truly amazing. I cannot bare to think how my
life will be when he leaves this world. As I type he is at my feet
waiting patiently to be brushed. I wrote a little poem about him and I
would like to share it with the world because he means the world to me.
My Dog, My Cowboy
He's one in the same
always welcomes me home
he never complains
I am at work all day
still he always behaves
If you say the word bath
he will leave the room fast
If you say the word light
His muscles get tight
He gets so intense
When he picks up a scent
He would rather not cuddle
But he will wallow in a puddle
We take walks through the sand
He obeys my commands
He looks for the lizards
With his muscles a-quiver
After his run, he is ready to nap
Then when he awakes, he insists on a snack
Dedicated to my best friend, "Cowboy".
