Boscar, the Dog of the Day
Name: Boscar
Age: Three and a half years old
Gender: Male Breed: German Shepherd, Maremma
Home: Stanthorpe, Queensland, Australia

This is my gorgeous dog, Boscar. I rescued him four months ago, as in his previous home, he was physically abused, and when he came here he was starved and full of fleas. Since then he has gained weight and looks great. He is the most gentle and affectionate dog and seems very happy here. My other dogs also get on well with him. We love him dearly.

Boscar has a great personality and loves people and other dogs. I think he actually gives doggie smiles when he is really happy. He has two nicknames-Dorkus and Boscarella.

Tricks: He comes, stays, sits and drops on command. Also waits when he is fed and only starts eating when he gets the command.

Toys and games: He has a favorite squeaky ball which he catches when thrown-to him or chases it and brings it back on command. He had a squeaky fluffy bunny which he loved till my other dog removed all its stuffing. Boscar was heartbroken and I haven't been able to find another.

Boscar is a very affectionate dog which is surprising because of all the beatings he had in his last home. He used to wander and when he returned they would beat him. Now he has supervised walks which he loves especially when we go down to the creek. He loves cuddles and is always ready to give a big sloppy kiss. He loves belly rubs.

His favorite food is basically anything, but his great love is meaty bones and chicken necks. His pet peeve is dinner being late. One of his bad habits is chewing my slippers when I am wearing them and he is the best hole digger I have ever seen. I think we could have made it to China in one of them.

Boscar is a great dog and people who meet him all love him. He has the saddest look sometimes but we just have a game of "chase" and he is happy again.

He has fitted into my family of six dogs as though he has always been here. I just love him to pieces!!
