Ella
is quite the prize. Someone let her go in downtown Nashville
almost seven years back. She was terribly emaciated and suffering with
a bad case of mange. My husband and I agreed to foster her until we
could nurse her back to health and find her a home. It took her less
than 48 hours for her to win over my husband. I knew she was our little
girl when he called to say, "Can we keep her? I have a name for her."
Then came the big news, she was pregnant. Though the vet said she would
have the pups in about 30 days, she would not hear of waiting and had
five miraculously health pups in two weeks time.
Ella was a great mother and is still to the two pups we just "had" to
keep. She is funny, loving, has what we call crazy spurts where she
runs about the yard as fast as she can in crazy patterns and she loves
walks so much she can't even sit still to get the lead around her neck.
Ella is very loving, adores people (and attention) but also likes to
just relax quietly away from it all as in this picture. Though someone
else did not see her wealth, we certainly feel blessed she found us.
