This
is my sweet baby doll Akane (ah con nay). She came into my life
when my teenaged daughter spotted her and had to have her. My daughter
moved into her own place a few years later and Akane stayed with me and
her sister, a teacup poodle. She really helped me and stayed right by my
side a few years later as I grieved the loss of my teacup poodle (age 15
3/4 years).
She is such a cuddler and does not like to have anything separating us.
When she is feeling especially loving, she will come sit in my lap and
press her whole body against mine. I just melt. She is small for a
beagle at eighteen pounds and even though she has a white face, people ask me
all the time if she is a puppy. Sometimes she still acts like she is!
She is trained in Japanese, thanks to my daughter lettering in Japanese
in High School. She knows "come" (kimasu) and "please" (douzo) in
Japanese. She knows a few more but Mom never mastered those. Her brother
who is a five-year-old Miniature Schnauzer pays no mind when I speak in
Japanese and Akane pays no mind when I speak English. What a pair! She
really is a Miss Priss. She would rather walk the long way around a
water or mud puddle than dirty her paws which is really funny for a
beagle. When she walks, she walks with a prance and thus earned her the
title of Grand Dame. I can't imagine life without my sweet loving baby doll!
