This
is Melia! Her name is the Hawaiian word for the Plumeria flower.
She was named while we vacationed in Maui waiting for her to be born.
We anxiously waited her arrival and the long eight weeks before we got to
bring her home. She is now four months old and we can't imagine life
without her. We drove 1,400 miles there and back to pick her up, and it
was totally worth it. As you can see she is irresistible. We have not
been on a walk yet without someone stopping to greet her and Melia would
never dispute this.
She is a very smart girl and is learning quickly. She already retrieves
and started swimming within minutes of being at the waters edge, a
natural retriever for sure. Something is in her mouth at all times,
whether it is a toy, or something she shouldn't have, she just feels
happier with a present to give!! Melia has a very exuberant puppy
personality and this keeps us active at all times. Her favorite buddy
is her cat brother Griffin. She knows to be careful around him as he is
a senior, but sometimes can't resist chasing him. We know he likes her
too as we find him sitting outside her crate watching her at night. We
are looking forward to many years with Melia and are excited for all the
adventures ahead.
