Payton
is our baby that we adopted from a no kill shelter about nine years
ago. He was adopted by a family before us and returned to the shelter
after being with that family for only two weeks. The day we adopted
him, he was sharing a cage with two other dogs and as soon as I looked
at his sweet face and scared eyes, I knew he was the one for us.
He was a year and a half when we got him and he had a rocky start - he
chewed our furniture, shoes, CDs anything you could imagine. We did
obedience training and he did... okay. But after a while he realized we
would never return him to the shelter and he was a part of our family
forever. Every day is a blessing because of Payton, he brings so much
joy to our home and I can't ever imagine our life without him. He is a
bit spoiled, when he's too tired to get out of our bed (yes he sleeps
with us), I brush his teeth while he lays on our pillow. And when it's
too cold outside for his little feet, we pick him up and carry him
inside or when it's too cold for a walk and he wants a little adventure
we'll drive around the neighborhood very slow so he can stick his head
out the window, and he loves to chase bunnies. Payton is the most loyal
and loving boy and he's very vocal too, which is music to my ears, he's
the smartest dog I know.
Payton is the best thing that ever happened to us and because us him
we're truly blessed!
