This
is Mouchka. My wife wanted a dog for a long time. On her birthday,
we have taken a look at several animal shelters. At the end of the day,
we saw Mouchka. She was in a cage with two other dogs and we immediately
agreed this was the one we wanted.
She was looking sad and shivered, either from the cold or from the fact
that two persons were looking at her cage. Anyway, we took her along and
she was immediately excited. It was between Christmas and New Year, so
she had to spend Christmas in a cage, but she could spend New Year's Eve
with her new family!
Mouchka is a very cuddly and excited dog, she likes to play with her
kong (toy) and to run. She certainly understands the word "walk" because
she's always ready to take a walk. She also understands (and tries to
listen to) the words "sit," "lay down," "give paw," and "beautiful" (when
we say "beautiful," she sits and raises her two front paws).
In the beginning, we had some issues where Mouchka destroyed pillows,
the wood on the window and many other things when we weren't at home.
However, we kept trying (stubborn as we are!) and now Mouchka is
behaving a lot better. She can stay at home when we have to work for a
whole day (my wife works about two days a week).
For a couple of months now, Mouchka has someone to play with: we adopted
a little kitten, Minou. At first, we were afraid, because we didn't knew
how Mouchka would react ... but it all went fine: Mouchka thought she
became a mother and started to lick and protect the kitten. Right now,
as I'm typing this, these two are playing right next to me.
