Scout
is not only a rescue dog that came from horrible conditions in a
trailer park, he is also the boss of two great danes and a golden
retriever mix. He only weighs in at nineteen pounds - but you should see the way
the other dogs get in line when he is around. We adopted Scout almost four
years ago from a rescue group in the Atlanta area. He immediately came
down with kennel cough and had to be quarantined in the basement - we
were so worried the little guy wouldn't make it that we were hesitant to
introduce him to the rest of the family, and we needed to keep them from
getting it, too. Thanks to a great vet, he pulled through, and is now
the boss of us all!
Scout was named for the character in "To Kill a Mockingbird" however,
he lives up to his name in a lot of other ways. Occasionally when he
escapes the fence he "scouts" around the neighboring yard for cats,
birds and any other critters that shouldn't be around.
