Meet
Apollo, our blue merle Great Dane! I had always had dogs growing
up, but because we lived in a small house, we always had little pups.
My dream always to have a great big couch potato, so when my husband and
I moved to a new house with a huge back yard, I was able to make my
dream come true. We got Apollo when he was just eight weeks old and only fifteen
pounds. Now, three months later, he's weighing in at over 75 pounds -
we expect him to top 160!
Apollo is such a sweetheart. Even as a puppy, he's relatively lazy and
is happy most of the time laying on your feet and snoozing. He's
learned the fine art of fetch, and will play for a while but I guess it
takes a lot of energy to move a body that big and he doesn't play long.
His favorite thing, so far, is his kiddie pool. He loves to get his
feet wet, or to lay in the cool water in the sun. He'll often play
"hippo" by sticking his muzzle under the water and blowing bubbles.
Apollo's just a big, happy, clumsy pooch and he's a very welcome and
wonderful addition to our family!
