Comet
was the name of our eleven year old Golden Retriever. He was my
best friend for as long as I can remember. Comet is a family dog, he
was an integral part of our family over the years.
Comet brought us closer together and made our family whole. He played
with us when we were happy, he comforted us when we're sad, he protected
us when we were scared. Through all the years he was an angel, bringing
us joy and peace in our lives. Never once did his loyalty falter, or
his tail stop wagging. He was the happiness in my laughter; the stars
in the sky; the song in the birds. I love him.
He is, was, and always will be, the best friend I've ever had. We live
in Albuquerque, NM with Comet where he enjoyed chasing the rabbits that
populate our yard every morning. One of his favorite pastimes was to
chase the tennis ball. Comet used to chase the ball for hours, he would
never quit. All I can say is thank God for dogs, they are our
guardians. If people could be more like dogs, I think the world would
be a better place.
We had to put him to sleep this September, and there is a large void in
my life where he used to be. It would be nice if he could be honored
one last time.
