This
is Beowulf, a four-year-old Australian Shepherd. He lives with us
in Jonesboro, Arkansas. This picture was taken while he was "on watch"
for his little brother, who was very sick at the time. Beowulf is the
best older brother--he is patient yet playful, a great role model, and
you can see the concern for his baby brother on his face in this picture!
Beowulf was rescued from the Memphis Humane Society when he was a year
and a half old, after he had been abandoned by his previous owner. It
may sound like we selected him, but with his instant friendship and
soulful personality, he marched right up to us and informed us we were
taking him home! We obviously had to agree! Beowulf is simply the
epitome of man's best friend, and his brother's best friend as well!
