About Us
Dolce, the Dog of the Day
Name: Dolce
Age: Thirteen months old
Gender: Female Breed: Maltese
Home: New York, New York, USA

We got our little baby, Dolce, when she was just nine weeks old and we completely fell in love with her! She's a Maltese, the smallest of all her siblings. It took some time, but we finally got her. I got home from school, and there she was, sleeping on her new pillow. I thought this was going to be very easy, she slept the rest of the day, but I sure was wrong!

After a couple of days, she started to wake up more, and she left a couple of "surprises" on the rug for us! (Also a couple in my grandma's shoe!) Since she is white she got so dirty every time we took for a walk, she barked non-stop when she was in her pen and we weren't playing with her, her food was never good enough for her, and she knocked over the garbage can every day! But of course, my sister and I still loved her! After going through a couple of trainers, we finally got her a crate, instead of a pen, changed her food, got the perfect groomer and she is now going on the wee-wee pad.

But, when she went in to get spayed, the vet took some tests, and saw some off numbers. We took her to the hospital, and they told us she had a really bad liver problem, and that she could die if we didn't fix it. So she was in the hospital for a week, and she came out as good as new! A week or two ago, the doctor took the tests again and they were perfect!

Now the only problem Dolce has is a chicken addiction! She loves to eat, but balances it with exercise! She's only five pounds, but it's pure cute and personality! She dances with my dad, licks herself like a cat, cocks her head at the computer, steals my pillow when I sleep, and smiles at me! She looks so cute in her little bow right now! We could not have gotten a better dog! We seriously have never ending nick names for her. She makes me laugh everyday; I hope she's brightened yours!
