Mona
is an extremely happy and playful dog. She's the quintessential
boxer. She loves to run, wrestle, and most of all, cuddle. She is very
well behaved. She will sit and stay until you tell her she can go. She
can shake paws and roll over as well. Mona loves to tear up cardboard
boxes, rip apart stuffed toys to find the squeaker within, and play
tug-o-war with her rope. She is a 60 pound lap dog and if you sit on the
ground cross-legged, she will do her best to curl up in your lap like
she did when she was a tiny pup.
Mona loves children and people in general, but she is a very skittish,
wary dog when it comes to adult strangers. She's quite protective of us.
She will bark at just about anyone or anything that crosses our path,
but her "bark" isn't so much a bark but a low growl followed by a "boof"
sound. I think it is a sound unique to Mona, and not very threatening at
that. But it doesn't take her long to warm up to people. Soon after
first meeting them she is kidney bean dancing around them like crazy,
giving kisses non-stop!
We feel very fortunate to have Mona in our lives. She makes us laugh
every day, and her love for us is boundless and completely obvious in
every way. You can see it in her big guileless brown eyes. And we look
forward to taking care of her and loving her to pieces for many years to come!
