We
went to see Santa! We all were very good. This was our first time to
met Santa and Mommy was afraid I wouldn't like him, (being a stranger
and all.) Shelties like myself and my little brother are bred as sheep
herders, not to be friendly to strangers. But over the years I have seen
many photos and dolls of Santa. I love Christmas and all the decorations
because that means our stockings are filled with many treats, toys and
best of all rawhide!
My name is Chauncey I am a 12-year-old Sheltie, my sister is a pound
puppy she is seven years old and we think she may have blue tick hound in her
and my baby brother Robbie came to my Daddy as a Christmas present last
year. He is also a Sheltie and is only 1 1/2 years. I still have a lot
to teach him. At first we didn't like him too much, because he came four
months after my beautiful sister Lexie died and we were all sad. I guess
Santa was smart giving him to our family because we all love him and he
helped us all with our grief. We all live in together happily.
Chauncey celebrated his 12th birthday on December 11th! He was gotten for
our first dog, Lexie, to have a sibling. He loved her dearly but she
left us way too early at 10 1/2 years old due to kidney failure. I am
proud to say both of my Shelties are true to their breed: tremendously
obedient, docile and very intelligent. He is a little large for his
breed but has always been very healthy and we pray that continues. He
knows many tricks any thing for treats. He loves treats! He sits, barks,
shakes hands, rolls over, walks backwards and makes a funny sound. As he
gets older we worry about his weight and don't want him to get fat. We
are so glad we found treats that are only three calories at Wal Mart
Pup-Corn, they come in cheese and peanut butter favors. He loves them
and he demands a certain amount of treats. He loves to catch his treats,
he is very good at that.
We all want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
