Lucky, the Dog of the Day
Name: Lucky
Age: Seven years old
Gender: Male Breed: Pug
Home: Bowling Green, Kentucky, USA

Lucky Lee is a beautiful black pug. He's seven years old but only came into my life two years ago. In those two short years, he's already managed to make a forever home in my heart.

Lucky has had some minor back problems and because of this he's restricted to taking short walks. When we want to go around the block, Lucky sports around in a hot pink pet stroller a.k.a the buggy. If you mention the word buggy - watch out. Lucky will bark, cry and whine until you put him in the stroller. He rides facing forward taking everything in as mom does all the work. He shows his appreciation by glancing back at me over his shoulder, and from the expression on his face I can tell he's happy.

The stroller has made Lucky the big man in the neighborhood. Where the other dogs have to actually walk, Lucky rides around. And as he thinks all dogs are his friends, if we see a furry someone, he'll cry until you let him out of the buggy so he can get acquainted. He's even used this technique to make a few girlfriends. He's a sly one.

When Lucky isn't being pushed around the neighborhood, he's either sleeping or playing with his toys. Stuffed toys are his favorite. These are his 'babies'. He's gotten so many his toy box is overflowing. I'm sure Santa will give him a new toy for Christmas (mom hopes Santa has room in the sleigh for a new toy box too!). When bed time is announced, he'll grab a baby to take to bed with us. The baby sleeps on the pillow and Lucky sleeps next to me. I'm not sure what happens during the night, but I usually wake up on the edge of the bed and Lucky is lying sideways all stretched out. In the morning, I'll lift him out of bed and he'll wait for me to give him his stuffed baby before he goes about his day.

Lucky is affectionate on his own terms. Mom always needs a kiss when she gets home from work. I tell him I need ten kisses, one kiss isn't enough. I didn't think my kisses were that bad but apparently Lucky thinks otherwise. He'll start barking and talking and runs around in circles. I'll kneel down and he'll let me hug and kiss on him briefly and then he's off.

He's brought so much fun, laughter and love to our home. Mom thinks he's beautiful and when she tells Lucky this, he smiles - showing his crooked bottom teeth (which only makes him more beautiful).
