This
is my puppy, Piper, who I rescued from the local shelter when she
was about four months old. She had spent her whole little life in shelters
up until I found her, and had been transferred from a different shelter
because she was scheduled to be put down. I am so glad I found her!
I went looking for a small breed puppy - something that would "fit"
better in our apartment. But when I got there and saw her, it was
impossible to leave her there. She looked at me with those eyes,
begging me to get her out to play. I spent a few minutes with her, and
that was all it took. She was such a big baby! She let me pick her up,
hold her upside down like a baby, and didn't even fuss at all. I knew
she was the one.
I had to convince my husband, and get permission from my apartment
complex to have her. But once all that was done, she came home. And
she's been the best addition to our little family (we already have two
cats - seven year old sisters). She is extremely well behaved, passed puppy
training with flying colors, and follows me everywhere I go. She barely
had to be house trained, and walked well on a leash immediately. She's
such a good little girl.
We moved from our tiny apartment to a rental house nearby (and paid huge
lease-breaking fees to do it,) so she'll have more room. Whoever heard
of a family moving just to allow more room for their dog!? Well, now
you have! There's a big fenced yard where she can romp and play, and
she doesn't have to "be quiet" with her toys anymore because we don't
have any downstairs neighbors. She loves it! And she's worth it.
