About Us
Sydney, the Dog of the Day
Name: Sydney
Age: Seven years old
Gender: Female Breed: Australian Terrier
Home: Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

This is Sydney, she lives and plays in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She loves snow and will spend hours burying her head in the snow and running through it until her body is filled with snowballs (but she detests rain or any part of being wet - go figure). She is special because she loves each of her five family members (and her half brother Moses). What also makes her special are her quirky ways.

Sydney loves babies, children and older adults. If a baby is brought in the house, she will do anything to get close to it. She will lick its face and lay down right next to it. Sydney also keeps track of every person in the house. She strategically lays in a location that allows her to know which room each one is in. If a child is sleeping in too long, she will eventually want to wake them up - with a personal visit and a face-licking!

Sydney's internal alarm clock has almost digital precision. At 7 a.m. and 4;30 p.m. she will "demand" her meal. And perhaps the most amazing thing is that she knows when cheese is taken out of the refrigerator and opened for eating or cooking. She knows no matter where she might be in the house! She comes running - from upstairs, downstairs and the farthest reaches. It is truly amazing.

By now you can tell we are totally whipped on our Australian Terrier. If we had five just like her our lives would be even better!
