This
is Cassie, my papillon. We live in Hythe, near to Southampton in
Hampshire. Cassie is very special in the sense that she reared three
kittens, even producing milk. Yes, kittens! My cat died after giving
birth, and Cassie cuddled them up, cleaning them and keeping them warm
while I did the bottle feeding for two days and three nights. On the fourth
day, my daughter realized the kittens were nursing from Cassie and we
then saw she had begun producing milk. She fed them for four and a bit weeks.
Cassie is also special as I am diabetic and reminds me to take my
tablets. If I forget in the mornings, she knocks them on the floor to
remind me. She is a darling. She is still very energetic, so loving
and loves everyone. She had a broken leg as a puppy but it healed okay.
She suffers a painful bad back, but never lets it get her down. She is
truly one in a million. And she is my best friend, soul mate and more
than I could ask from her or any human.
