About Us
Reni, the Dog of the Day
Name: Reni
Age: Thirteen years old
Gender: Female Breed: Pomeranian
Home: Litchfield, Connecticut, USA

Reni, a thirteen-year-old black Pomeranian, is the light and love of our lives. Twelve pounds of ferocity, she chases away all critters from the back yard, including a lumbering black bear who was swatting at our bird feeder. She doesn't like stairs or slippery flooring, but otherwise is fearless.

Reni prefers to cuddle up with us even though we created her own little bed. She often travels with us, as more B&Bs are accepting pets. I've found that a small well-behaved Pomeranian is welcome in most places, especially when she's being carried. Our next planned family trip is to visit Vermont's Dog Chapel.

She's not certain what to make of youngsters and our twin granddaughters chase her around the house and crawl under the table to pet her. I have several photos of Reni being hugged by little girls while looking quizzically into the camera, enjoying the attention but wondering about the fuss.

We have always considered Reni to be our "little angel" and last year she walked down the runway dressed in white for our church's pet fashion show. It was a windy day and the pre-show photo captured her just before her halo blew off. (I'm sure we've all been there!)
