This
is Comanche. My companion and best friend was born in West Virginia. He
lives with his half-sister, Cherokee, age ten years, my other best friend
and companion. Comanche is getting older now, his weight is 211#. Due to
his size, he is now suffering from hip displaysia, arthritis of the spine,
which has now affected him neurologically. I wish everyone could know what
a beautiful and wonderful spirit he is. I just wanted to share this picture
of him walking thru a pine tree which was blown over by the wind this last
winter in our back yard.
Comanche is a real people lover. He craves attention and affection. As
he has gotten older, his activity level as slowed down; he doesn't
have much of a howl anymore, nor is he able to run and play like he used
to. He is very attached to me, as well as I am to him and doesn't like
to share me with his sister. The only time he shows aggression is with
his sister, when it comes to food and sharing attention, no matter who
it is. I have strangers stop by and ask to visit, and it just makes
their day! "People to entertain me!" they think. They are both fed a
diet of raw meat, chicken and venison, as well as dog food. They enjoy
marshmallows, ice cream, and cookies, although I keep that to a minimum.
The vet makes house calls, as they do not leave their pen, which is
about 1/2 acre in size. Much like a dog, they get their vaccinations,
heartworm medicine and flea and tick drops. They both are micro-chipped
and are neutered. Since I have talked about Cherokee so much, I have
attached a picture of them together. They are both my best company,
friends, healers, teachers, and guardians!
