We
had recently lost our beloved thirteen-year-old female chow mix and we
were all very lonely, especially Buster. Buster is a three-year-old mixed
breed that we rescued in Texas. I had done a lot of research on the Great
Pyrenees and a friend of mine gave me a breeder's name close by. I
contacted her and she had a female ready to place. My boyfriend was not
interested. He said he did not like their pointed noses (I have no idea
what he had the breed confused with). I convinced him to go with me to
"take a look." We arrived and he immediately picked up Sadie, held her
close, and started to kiss the top of her head. I knew we were in trouble.
He finally asked me if I would like to hold her for a minute! Well, the
rest is history.
She is a joy, and all puppy! She was eight weeks in photo, though
she is now fifteen weeks old. Sadie is intelligent, comical, nurturing, and
loves to eat! She has gained close to 20 pounds in the six weeks we have
owned her. I expect her to weigh in over 90 pounds. Buster loves her and is
her protector, although there are times I'm sure that he just wishes for a
break from the action that a fifteen-week-old puppy provides.
