This
is Grady, better known as Goobie to his friends and admirers. He's
a one-year old Pembroke, and we like to joke that he looks like he is
always wearing black eye liner. Goob is a herding dog, so he likes to
follow you around as you move the sprinkler or when you get his leash to
take him on a Goobie Walk. Of course, being short and long, he doesn't
really manage to herd so much as trip you. And he's fast, so you can't
ever tell what direction he's going to come from.
Goobie enjoys his Goobie Snaks, Goobie Walks in the park and around the
neighborhood and visits to my grandparents house, where he plays with
his friend Chloe, the Rottweiler mix. They get on well, and they run
around and sniff things and play wrestling games until Chloe decides she
can't trip over him anymore and then it's time to go home.
Grady is the sweetest tempered little dog I've probably ever met. His
ears vibrate when he's listening really hard and when you speak to him,
he kind of tilts his head like, "Are you talking to me?" I couldn't
ever have any other breed of dog after having a corgi, they're like
constant little balls of sunshine that brighten your day.
