This
lovely dark diva is Muesli T'Pring. Our best guess as to her breed
mix is husky/shepherd/collie. She seems to have a combination of all of
their characteristics - much to the chagrin of my cats when she does her
police dog routine. They are allowed in the kitchen to get a drink of
water, but they better not even think about jumping on the counter!
Muesli is five years old and was a rescue through animal control in
another county. She had a bad habit of getting loose from her tie out
and chasing the neighbor's cattle. Obviously this was not a popular
activity and the farmer was threatening to shoot her to protect his
livestock. Animal control had picked her up a few times and if she
continued to be a repeat offender, her future was not promising. So, her
owner made a brave sacrifice and gave her up to a home where she would
get tons of exercise and get a big brother in the bargain.
Muesli has been a city girl now for over three years and she couldn't be
happier. She was carrying some extra weight when I first took her home,
but a regular exercise regime has slimmed her down by almost twelve
pounds and she is virtually impossible to tire out! She has made
numerous dog friends, has learned several new tricks, gets lots of city
street walks, hiking in the woods every weekend, and even skijoring in
the winter. She loves her big brother Kioko and she even does her best
to tolerate the cats! Muesli is a friendly, clever dog who never ceases
to amaze and amuse me. I am very grateful to her first family who
loved her enough to let her go.
