Niño
means so much to me. I was ten and he was about six months when
my family adopted him. Niño has put up with a lot from me, being ten
years old and trying to train him in agility, dealing with my short
temper, always literally ignoring my yelling and frustrations.
Niño loves to play with the plastic turtle-shaped top of the sandbox,
he thinks it's his personal giant frisbee. If my sisters or I stand or sit
on it he tries to pull us around in it. He is also very tolerant of my
dwarf rabbit Oslo, laying still while Oslo hops around him and explores.
All of the neighbor kids love him, and he's a good sport with them. Last
year we trained and competed in 4-H obedience, and brought home a big
reserve champion rosette. This spring, we moved up to some off-leash work,
and I was very proud of him, he listened to me the whole time. I ended up
teaching him the swing finish off leash the day of the show.
Now I am at college and six hours away from him, and it is very hard. I
miss him every day. I don't know where I would be without him.
