About Us
Dante, the Dog of the Day
Name: Dante
Age: Ten years old
Gender: Male Breed: German Rottweiler
Home: Burbank, California, USA

   Hello!

This is Mr. Dante Brown who is ten years young (he really does get offended when people say the word "old") German Rottweiler living in Burbank, California.

He and his girlfriend volunteered in a ASPCA commercial for spaying and neutering (bottom of homepage). He is always full of communication, so took naturally to being a movie star. He has been a productive boy - helping me with my business as well as volunteering for the commercial.

Dante is the most loving dog I know of, full of charm and especially to women. He loves people, dogs, horses and Police Officers who like him. In general, Dante is a good boy. He has only stolen the Thanksgiving turkey off the table once. It was very entertaining to watch him run with it - hot, turkey legs bouncing all around. It made it hard to scold him while we laughed!

We take frequent trips to the baseball diamond (there are four diamonds within a same large, fenced-in area) and enjoy saying hi to all of the neighborhood teams - adults, kids and other dogs. He is such a friendly boy that he will and has licked many babies right on the face just to show his affection. He is a very special dog.

Sometimes he will play in the sprinklers that go off in the afternoon. Spectators will stop in their tracks just to see this joyful Rottie frolicking through the water! Ahhh - bliss for both of us on a hot summer's day!

He also insists that we visit the basketball players in the indoor recreation center. He loves basketball - he loves the smells, sounds and sight of the boys playing and usually wants to contribute his expertise in the game but we always end up lugging him away to let them continue playing. Once he accidentally pinned me down on the bed - he used to weigh 175 pounds so after the third time it happened, I decided it was time he went on a diet, which he wasn't too happy about. He is now 125 pounds! Diet, excersize and handling his thyroid were the ticket to getting him to shed a few pounds.

And he sleeps so well after these field trips.

Now that its the holiday season I take him and his girlfriend (also a Rottie) on rides throughout our city with the windows part down so they can enjoy all of the neighborhood light displays. I drive slowly because it's totally worth seeing the look on their fuzzy faces - tongues out, smiling, happy faces - the pleasure they get from this makes me happy that I can bring the same joy they bring back into my life.
